The Texas Department of State Health Services is currently recruiting medical and non-medical volunteers as part of their “Adopt-A-POD program”.
A Point of Dispensing or POD is where members of a community go in a disease outbreak to receive pills or shots. The primary purpose of a POD is to decrease the number of individuals from within the community who may become ill.
Schools, civic organizations, church groups, and private industry are being asked to consider serving the community by “Adopting” a community POD site. Individuals are encouraged to volunteer as well.
POD training will be provided locally and the time commitment to serve as a volunteer group or individual volunteer is minimal. For additional information, please contact;
